The Antichi Organi del Canavese collection born in 1996 from an idea that came to Adriano Giacometto and Roberto Ricco following Montanaro's regional tourism office proposal to record the town's monumental pipe organ that had recently restored.

Antichi Organi del Canavese, whose catalogue has been continuosly enriched and expanded by new volumes during the years, has continued to maintain it's original philosophy: the study, valorization, and diffusion of the Canavese organ patrimony, recognized as foremost in it's region and absolutely among the most important nationally.

During the recording session particular care is taken for the microfone set-up in order to guarantee as natural a capture of sound as possible, taking into consideration the acoustical characteristics of the various church where the instruments are found; an indispensable prerequisite for the preservetion of the depth and balance of the overall sonic picture. The recorded signal undergoes no electronic alterations (equalization, compression, expansion, artificial echo, etc.) neither on the recording location, nor during the digital editing.

The aim is to document the various intruments as faithfully as possible this documentation is aided by an enclosed booklet in which one can find the historical profile of the organ, its personal description, comments regarding the musical aspects of the CD, and the type of the stops utilized. The publication is accompanied by illustrative color photography.
